I know that’s hard to believe, especially coming from someone so perfect like me (HAHA. NOT) but we (including myself) all need to get the idea of perfection out of our heads and strive for consistency instead.
There is no ‘perfect’ body because there are always going to be individualities and quirks in everyone.
There is no ‘perfect’ job because there will always be an aspect of your role that you will like less than others.
There is no ‘perfect’ relationship because no one is perfect, therefore the relationship cannot be perfect.
What will define your level of success in all areas of your life is the consistent efforts you put towards it. The energy, strategies, thoughts and motivation you consistently put into a goal will be your key to success.

Your perception and approach is the key to building up a strong and ‘successful’ body (however way you choose to define success and a healthy body).
The key to being happy at your job is focusing on the things that you enjoy and are grateful for, while making sure you are fulfilling your needs and what stimulates you, whether that’s at work or outside of work.
The key to a strong and enriching relationship is your perception and how you handle disagreements.
The common thread in all of these? You guessed it, CONSISTENCY.
Having a consistent approach, plan or strategy towards solving or addressing the areas in your life that are falling short of your expectations will determine how quickly you achieve success.
In other words, if you want to be truly successful, you need to recognize that the path to success isn’t to strive for perfection, but rather to strive for consistency.

Every day, you need to make an effort to take one step closer to your goal, to what you want to create, experience. Every day, you need to take a step towards who you want to be and what you want to do and what you want to achieve.
More specifically, if you want to find your ‘dream’ job, there are logical steps that you need to consistently take to be able to achieve that.
Do you have the right education for that job? Do you have the skills? If not, how can you build those skills and that experience to get you there?
Consistency is the key to success. If you focus on creating continuous growth and regular efforts towards your goal, you’re already successful because you’re making the effort. Half the battle won.

{ How to stay consistent }
The more I learn about success, the more I realize that there is a simple formula that all successful people follow, and that is to always be working towards your goals.
Every single day, you should be living and breathing your goals. And keep in mind that success and what your goals are will be different for every person. We will not all have the same goals or strive for the same level of success, and that’s okay.
The point is that you can achieve whatever you want and be successful in the goals that you set for yourself, if you stay consistent.
Let’s say that you want to attract the relationship of your dreams, because that’s a completely valid and relevant goal to want. That means that every day, you should be working on yourself to become the best version of YOU, so that you are ready to be the person that you need to be in that ideal relationship.
You might need to work on your patience, on your communication, on understanding how to be more supportive…whatever it might be, every day, you will encounter situations where you can work on yourself and become a stronger and the best version of you.
Now to get to more concrete tips on how to stay consistent with your goals so that you can start ignoring the inner b*tch telling you need to be perfect… read on!

{ Tip # 1 | Review your goals frequently }
And by frequently, I mean … FREQUENTLY.
Ideally, you would be reviewing your goals every morning or at the very least every week. That’s why I set monthly and weekly goals because it gives me the opportunity to review my goals and then break it down and set monthly and weekly goals to make sure that I’m on track throughout the year.
The more you review your goals, the more they become engrained in your mind and the more your subconscious will try to find big and small ways to get closer to your goals.

If you are trying to get in shape and lose weight for example, then you need to consistently do certain things like eat healthy and exercise. Therefore, if you review your goals consistently, you will be constantly reminded of that goal. And on a day where you want to reach for that muffin, you might think about it twice.
The more frequently you review your goals, the more they are in your conscious and subconscious, which will help you make wiser decision on a daily basis which will make the difference in your success.
{ Tip # 2 | Build good habits }
Healthy mental and physical habits are the foundation of a balanced and happy life.
Within the context of success, you need to build habits that will help you stay on track with your goals. Habits that will help you feel balanced, connected, happy, inspired and healthy and energetic.

For example, you should create an effective morning and evening routine so that you can start your day on the right foot, and go to bed the right way so that you can maximize your sleep.
You should also create healthy physical habits like getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, eating enough of the right nutrients for your body and lifestyle.
These habits will sustain your mental and physical energy to make consistent efforts towards your success. With the right mindset and energy, you will build your capacity and ability to manage and handle anything that comes your way.
{ Tip # 3 | Consistently track your progress }
How do you know that you’re progressing and that your efforts are consistent enough?
By tracking your progress.
This is goal-slaying 101: track your progress so that you can see how far you’ve come because that will give you a better idea whether you’re on track with your goals or whether you need to adjust a strategy or re-think your plan.

By tracking your progress, this also allows you to check in with yourself frequently (ideally on a daily basis) to make sure that you are in fact, making a consistent effort towards your goals.
The quicker you progress, the faster you will slay your goals and achieve success. That can only be achieved through consistent, daily and weekly efforts.
{ Tip # 4 | Consistently adjust your strategy }
In the same vein as tip #3, you need to consistently adjust your strategy and your plan.
If you aren’t progressing or aren’t progressing fast enough, why use the same strategy if something is clearly not working?
By tracking your progress, you will already be able to see whether you’re on the right path towards success. If you notice something is lacking, not progressing or not working, then you know that you need to adjust your strategy.

Consistency is more important than perfection because you have a more realistic and achievable goal. By making daily efforts, you will successfully achieve your goals.
An important lesson that I’ve learned is that the journey towards achieving your goals is more important than the goal itself.
Your goals are something that your heart desires. You really want to create, achieve something, build or own something.
Those are all great and we all have those desires and things that we really want.
But true success isn’t only about achieving those goals. It’s about who you become on your path towards achieving those goals.

Love the saying Consistency is the new perfection. And I very much agree with it – consistency is so underrated. Maybe because it undermines the myth of quick success? But this is really to only way to make it.
I agree with your tips, especially with frequently reviewing goals. It’s also important not just to track progress, but appreciate it. I always try to focus on what I’ve already achieved and how far I already got, instead of always obsessing over how far away my ultimate goal still might be. It’s a lot more positive and motivating attitude.
