In these series, I share a quick dose of wisdom in the hopes of inspiring and motivating you in your journey to achieving your goals and creating a life that you love. Today, I wanted to share with you a funny story. Well… “funny”. I find it funny, because I tend to laugh at the most inappropriate and awkward moments because it’s a coping mechanism. So here goes my funny-not-funny story.
On Tuesday night, I was laying in bed with a fever, a sore wrist (ICYM I injured my wrist and spent 2 days at the hospital last week) AND had period cramps.
I was literally laughing at myself, cuddled up between all my pillows trying to get comfortable, with the blankets haphazardly thrown on me because I was shivering while simultaneously sweating from the fever.
Why was I laughing?
Because sometimes, the Universe just keeps throwing shit at you.
I mean…if you’ve been reading my journey for a while now, you know that things haven’t been easy. And even though there are MANY amazing things in my life, I’m not gonna lie, it’s moments like that where I wonder…what the actual f*ck.
So what do you do when life throws you yet another rotten lemon (not sure where that came from but I thought of the expression “When life throws you a lemon, make lemonade.”
There are a number of reactions anyone could have to more sh*t being thrown their way.
- You could cry, get angry, get upset, be frustrated.
- You could take it with stride and try to smile through it.
- You could play the victim and wonder, “Why me?”
Take a moment and think to yourself – what do YOU do in the wake of a new challenge?
