In these series, I share a quick dose of wisdom in the hopes of inspiring and motivating you in your journey to achieving your goals and creating a life that you love. Today would have been my 5th wedding anniversary. And I don’t know how to feel about it.
I’m still sad. Disappointed. Oh goodness, disappointed is definitely a big one. Disappointed about how I excited I was to be married to someone I loved…and really, to being happy to be married and to build a life together…to realizing that we weren’t on the same page and I would never have the marriage or relationship I truly wanted.
I’m also still angry. Angry at what happened. Angry at never getting an apology. Angry for having been made to feel like the crazy one, whether it was for my anxiety or for everything that was happening but that was pictured as being “innocent”.
It’s a strange feeling, pulling all your heart and energy into something, and for it to not be recognized or appreciated.
But life goes on. You have to learn how to live with the scars that life will give you. To learn from your experiences. To appreciate your journey, as painful as it might be.
And to build a happier life, little by little, step by step, day by day.
Because it truly is about the small, intentional steps you take, every day, towards feeling happier and creating a life you love.
Love,
Seppy
