In these series, I share a quick dose of wisdom in the hopes of inspiring and motivating you in your journey to achieving your goals and creating a life that you love. This is an excerpt from the weekly Love Letters I send to my mailing list, so make sure to subscribe if you want to receive the full letter in your inbox!
Hello my lovely!
I am writing to you in a good mood (which honestly, isn’t every day). I haven’t slept well all week, but last night, I was able to get a bit of restful sleep and I feel better!
This week, I found myself getting irritated and impatient with small things. Whether it was stuff happening at work (nothing out of the ordinary, just the regular day-to-day stuff that comes up), I was getting frustrated with my body and not feeling great (even though I’ve been back at the gym for over a month and am noticing a difference and have been feeling stronger) and I was just… drained.
Through sharing my journey of creating a happier life, I always want to be honest with you so that you never have the illusion that I’m always happy. Because I am … not.
And it’s important for you to understand the duality of emotions.
You can’t have one without the other. You can’t know what happiness feels like if you’ve never experienced sadness. You won’t know what hope is if you’ve never felt hopeless. You won’t know how to feel calm if you’ve never felt stress.
Appreciate every emotion for what it is. A lesson. An opportunity to learn about how you want to experience life and to make sure you make the time to cultivate the emotions you WANT to feel more in your daily life.
Life is a journey and it’s never a linear path. Like waves, life and emotions and everything in between ebbs and flows, and the faster you learn how to go with the flow, the easier and happier life will be. Never forget that.
