The time has finally come for me to share my secrets with you. I’m constantly working on improving and learning more about the art of goal-setting and the tricks behind how to slay your goals! And I’m here to spill the beans and to simplify everything for you. Your future self will thank me. So here’s everything you need to know about how to SLAY your goals and create your dream life.
{ How did it all start? }
I already shared part of my journey with you in a previous blogpost so I wont bore you by repeating the same thing. Instead, I’ll talk more specifically about my goal-setting journey and what I’ve learned in the process and the realizations that I continue to have almost on a daily basis.
The first Ah-a moment I ever had was with my hubby in 2007, before we even started dating. He has always been very interested with goal-setting and goal slaying and he introduced me to Tony Robbins.
I don’t remember the context why we did a small goal-setting workshop but I remember sitting across from him in his condo and I had written out in detail the man of my dreams and the relationship that I wanted to have. I had never had a boyfriend before and at that time, I was 18 years old and really wanted to meet someone (back in the day, I thought I would be married by 21 and have kids by 24. HA.).
After going through a Tony Robbins guided goal-setting session, I had a clear outline of everything that I wanted in a partner, the type of relationship I wanted to have, and the kind of person I needed to be so that I could be the best partner in that relationship too.
And then suddenly, I had this moment of clarity where I looked up and stared at my hubby. I had an Ah-a moment that the person that I was describing was EXACTLY the person that was sitting in front of me!
[bctt tweet=”What goals are have YOU been slaying lately? #GloalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
It was a surreal moment that I will never forget. And 10 years later, here we are, still together and as in love as ever. Not to sound too cheesy but it sometimes feels like we never left the honeymoon phase.
I’m sharing this story with you because that was the first time that I truly understood the power of goal-setting. I consider that I’ve slayed the relationship category of goals because I am now happily married. But the main lesson is that by digging deep and by figuring out exactly what I wanted, I was able to welcome in my life the best relationship I could have ever dreamed of.
So what does that mean for you?
That I know what it feels to not have clarity about what you want let alone how to achieve it. That it can be hard not to have direction and purpose in life. And I’m here to share with you everything you need to know about how to slay your goals!
Everything you need to know how to slay your goals!
{ Goal Slaying Tip # 1 | Mindset }
Everything starts in your mind. Where your thoughts go, energy flows.
In other words, whatever you decide to think about and focus on will be amplified and will be your main focus. If you decide to focus on the negative and the downside of a situation, then your energy will become low and down and you will feel like sh*t about it.
[bctt tweet=”Goal slaying tip 1: Create a mindset of abundance and growth #GloalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
If you choose to see the silver lining and understand what you can learn from a situation, you will feel empowered and come out stronger and your focus will be growth and progress which is more positive and uplifting.
[bctt tweet=”Where your thoughts go, energy flows – #GoalGetter #GloalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
Choose to shift your mindset to create a mentality of abundance and growth and progress and empowerment so that whenever something happens in your life, you automatically think to yourself “BRING IT ON B*TCH, I CAN HANDLE IT” rather than having a victim mentality or a mindset of scarcity such as “I can’t do it” or “I don’t have the energy to deal with this.”
[bctt tweet=”Choose to shift your mindset to create a mentality of abundance, growth and empowerment so that whenever a challenge comes your way, you automatically think: “BRING IT ON B*TCH, I CAN HANDLE IT.” #GoalGetter #GloalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
Your mind is your biggest weapon in taking a challenge and turning into an empowering lesson.
{ Goal Slaying Tip # 2 | Gratitude }
The more you realize how blessed you already are and how much you already have in your life, the more your energy and mind will be able to welcome even more into your life.
It might seem counterintuitive and you’re probably wondering “If I’m already happy with everything that I have, then why would I need to set goals and slay new goals if I’m already content.”
Well, that’s technically true, but gratitude isn’t about settling or about giving up on your dreams. It’s about recognizing what you already have so that you can create that abundance mindset that we talked about before.
[bctt tweet=”Goal slaying tip 2: Practice daily gratitude – recognize what you already have so that you can create a mindset of abundance. #GoalGetter #DreamBig #GloalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
Like attracts like. The more down and negative and discouraged you are, the less likely you are to go out and try again and again to slay your goals.
The more positive, empowered and inspired you are, the more likely you are to pick yourself back up and try again and again and tell yourself that regardless of the outcome, you are learning and becoming stronger, so you are ‘winning’ in the end because you are benefiting from the process.
Start to practice daily gratitude and you will start to see amazing changes in your life. This has to be one of the best habits I’ve cultivated in my life and I’m grateful for my gratitude practice!!
[bctt tweet=”Start to practice daily gratitude and you will INSTANTLY see amazing changes in your life. #GoalGetter #SlayYourGoals” username=”seppyforlove”]
And it doesn’t have to be complicated. I always find that it’s better if I write it down. Especially on days where I might be struggling a bit more, I can look back and get inspired and be reminded of the things I’m grateful for.
Even being grateful for small things like taking a deep breath or feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin…all these positive thoughts you create will cultivate a healthier and more powerful mind which is the first place where you will start to build and slay your goals.
{ Goal Slaying Tip # 3 | Clarity }
When you know what you want, it becomes easier to figure out how to get there. The moment you become clear on your goals, your subconscious mind start to find paths and clues and solutions to achieve and slay those goals. The minute you put out into the universe what you want to accomplish, you are asking for the world to give you answers and open up doors for you.
It’s really that simple.
[bctt tweet=”Goal slaying tip 3: Get clear on what you want so that your mind and the universe can work together to get you where you want to be! #GoalGetter #GoalSlayer #DreamBig” username=”seppyforlove”]
Clarify gives you power. Power to know what you want. Power to create a plan towards achieving your goals. And the power to recognize what is possible and what is impossible (NOTHING!).
Get clear on what you want, who you want to be, what you want to create, what you want to achieve, what you are willing to put into it and what you will need to do to slay those goals.
[bctt tweet=”Clarity gives you power. Power to know what you want. Power to create a plan towards achieving your goals. And the power to recognize what is possible and what is impossible (NOTHING!). So get CLEAR on your goals! #GoalGetter #GoalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
{ Goal Slaying Tip # 4 | Consistency }
Now I’m not saying that if you ask for something, you will immediately receive it. You do need to put some thought and effort into achieving your goals (duh).
Figuring out what you want is half the battle. The second part is to consistently and continuously take steps towards your goals. Whether you are reviewing your goals on a daily or weekly basis, going over your strategy to see what’s been working and what isn’t so that you can change it, you need to constantly work towards your goals.
[bctt tweet=”Goal slaying tip 4: Consistently take steps towards your goals. What’s one thing you can do today to bring you closer to your goals #GoalGetter #GoalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
If you want to learn something new like speaking a new language, it isn’t enough to put out the intention “I want to speak Spanish”. You need to take classes, you need to practice reading and speaking. To become fluent, you need to consistently practice what you are learning so that it becomes engrained in your mind. You wont just learn it in your sleep! (if only …)
{ Goal Slaying Tip # 5 | Patience }
This is probably a good habit to apply in all areas of your life, but particularly when it comes to slaying your goals. You have to stay patient. Things don’t always come easy, and that should be part of the fun.
I learned a long time ago that sometimes, the journey is more important than the outcome. Sometimes, you will learn more throughout the process than once you have achieved the goal. That if you adopt a mindset of growth and learning, that you will be able to enjoy the process and this will help you stay patient.
[bctt tweet=”Goal slaying tip 5: Patience is the key to slaying your goals – stay consistent and patient and you WILL achieve your goals! #GoalGetter #GoalSlayer” username=”seppyforlove”]
It’s easy to get caught and want instant results, especially if it’s something that you want REALLY badly. But some things take time and you need to recognize that. And often, you wont achieve something until you learn a particular lesson and overcome a particular challenge. Be patient and stay consistent and the results will come with time. Trust the process.

Reading all of these tips felt like you weer talking to me, especially when it comes to learning a language. I’m trying to learn French, but I’m not putting consistent effort into the process. Consistency is so important.
You’re so right about mindset too. I know I can find/make the time in the day to do the things I want to do (and I think most people could), but we don’t always do it because we don’t have the right ‘can-do’ attitude. It’s easy to give in to a lack of energy/motivation, or make excuses, but this behavior will only stop us from achieve our goals.
Thanks for the motivation, as always!

Your comments are always so heartwarming – thank you darling.
You have to find a strong reason why you want to stick through your goal. And if you have a specific plan, it also becomes easier to stick to it. For learning French for example, tell yourself that every second day, you will listen to something in French for 30 minutes. Don’t over-schedule it but give yourself specific tasks to work towards and once you gain momentum and feel proud of your accomplishments, you’ll keep going and will want to do more!

I have been working on this all myself. I am a work in progress and my goals keep changing. Some of these are easier said than done.
Sepideh says
Which ones in particular do you find more challenging? And why?
Everyone is a work in progress so don’t worry about that. Take it day by day

GIRL THIS IS SO GOOD! You make so many good points and things we often forget to remind ourselves of. I love how you said that where our thoughts are, energy flows. We have the power to think our way in or out of our goals.
