This video has been a long time coming – I wanted to share a bit of my divorce story and tips to help you get through a divorce or break-up.
When I was going through my break-up/divorce, I felt really lonely in my thoughts and emotions. And I wanted to create a video for whoever is going through a rough patch in their relationship to make you feel a bit less lonely, but also to give some practical advice on things you can do to take care of yourself throughout this part of your journey.
Remember that everything is temporary. Do whatever you can to get through your divorce to come out of it on the other side as a stronger and better version of yourself.
This video was made from the heart. I want to normalize leaving unhealthy relationships and normalize talking about divorce. I still feel some shame around it but I know that staying in a toxic relationship is not the answer. And I hope that I can serve as an example to give you hope of what comes next.
For a long time, I was afraid of not knowing who I would be without that 12 year relationship and what my life would look like. But I am on the other side, and I can tell you that there is hope and that there is something better. As long as you are staying true to yourself and your self-worth.
