What are the areas that need more work? What are areas that you’re wasting too much on energy on?
Once you start pinpointing the areas that require more or maybe less of your attention, you will be able to determine a more effective plan of action. And you know what that means. With a clear plan of action, you can slay your goals!

A life audit is a powerful tool for everyone to assess their current life circumstances to see what they need to work on.
I’m not saying that you should go out and find things to get upset or stressed out over and finding things that you need to fix when they don’t need to be. Not at all.
I think that everyone can benefit from assessing their lives once in a while, and you’ll see why in the next section!
More specifically, a life audit is particularly relevant for anyone that feels like they’re stuck, like they’re unsure about what step to take next. A life audit is useful to give you direction. It’s an easy tool to assess your current situation by breaking it down in a logical way so that it can become less overwhelming to tackle the areas that deep down, you know need more of your attention.

{ How a life audit can help you get your sh*t together }
Like I said before, a life audit allows you take a step back and assess your life. It gives you an overall perspective on how you’re doing in each important area so that you can see what areas might be lacking or that might need a bit more of your attention.
The areas we’re talking about are related to your mind, body and soul.
Under the ‘mind’ category, there are sub-categories like emotional well-being, personal growth and career.
Under the ‘body’ category, there’s physical health, finances and self-care.
And finally, the ‘soul’ category covers intimate relationships, friends and family, and your spirituality and life purpose.
Doing a life audit, whether you feel confused or out of control and overwhelmed with what to do in life, or whether you want to see what areas you can improve, this is an easy and useful tool that can really help you a lot.
By doing a self-assessment, you can pinpoint areas of improvement.
PIN NOW, READ LATER!
You might uncover what has been bothering you or that’s lacking that you need to work on. For example, maybe you’ve been too focused on your career and neglected your personal and intimate relationships and now you’re feeling the void.
A life audit can help clarify the gaps so that you can create an effective strategy for a more balanced life.

I’m repeating myself but whether you feel out of control or even if you feel like things are going well, there’s always room for improvement. There are always things that you could be doing better or more effectively.
A life audit really helps get your sh*t together because with a global perspective of all the areas in your life, Stay on track with your goals

I am overweight and super depressed so much that some days I stay in bed all day. I don’t know what I can do to even help myself anymore. I have been an addict most if my life and recently stopped using my drug of choice. But all I do is think about how miserable I am all the time. I want to exercise but can’t ever seem to stick with shit.
Cathy ❤️ says
Only you can get yourself out of this …!!!
Get out of bed and go for a walk!
Start there. Even if it’s a block….Exercise increases endorphins.
YOU CAN DO THIS…
Ask yourself (as you walk) is this where I want to be again in a year …laying in bed and feeling this way. Then say to yourself …I can do this ..I can get unstuck …I just need a plan …
Get a shower and get dressed in the clothes you feel good in. If you you don’t have any …fake it …put on some make up Dress up and get out! Go to the nearest coffee shop, take a pad of paper and a pencil and write down everything and anything.
How you are feeling ?
Why you are feeling like this ?
What would make you happy ?
Where you want to be in a week ?
Then start making a plan
Do you have a job? Get one …
stay busy. This will develop friendships , support systems and will allow you to earn money.
Don’t stay stuck! I believe you can do this!!!…Just coming here and commenting is the first step in getting help. The internet is a big place and there are lots of people who will be your support system. Stay busy !
As for being over weight start somewhere …cut out sugar cut out something that isn’t healthy …4grams of sugar is one tsp of sugar (yuk …think about it …envision yourself putting a tsp of sugar in your mouth that’s gross) read the labels …on all the food you eat and start there by cutting out sugar or making wiser choices with food ….YOU CAN DO THIS …and when you feel like binging get away from the food and write (journal )
Start there …start somewhere …but don’t stay stuck …you’ve got this …

First, I want to say I am so proud of you for making such a positive powerful choice to quit drugs after being addicted for such a long time. I want to encourage you. I know you can do this. You will take baby steps, and at times you may falter, but in the end you will reach your goals! I am praying right now for you!
Second, depression is a disease, not a weakness or lack of moral character. Part of that disease is lack of energy and extreme fatigue. Your brain and body can become overwhelmed. Your body was used to your using drugs, and now the biochemistry of your body and brain is changing. The toxins you have been taking in in the form of drugs are now being removed slowly by your body. Your body needs time to recover. So please, go to a doctor immediately, tell him or her you are a former addict and have decided to quit taking drugs, and that you are very depressed. The doctor will be able to help you determine the best therapies to support your health and relieve depression. You may need to take an antidepressant temporarily until your body adjusts. You may benefit from different behavioral therapies and counseling. Please get the professional help you need. I am praying you are not suicidal. If you are, please go to the Nearest Emergency Room. You are a precious human being, and you are worthy of being helped. Please do not try to do this alone.
Until you can get to the doctor, think of what gave you joy in the past (other than drugs or harmful things). Was there something you loved to do as a child? Did you like art? Music? Animals? Cooking? Taking a bubble bath? Putting on nail polish? Baking? Running? Walking in nature? Swimming? Write a list of these things. Then do them, one by one. You will be taking one small step at a time. Just choose one activity from your list and try it in a small way. Make it your goal to try just one item per day or even per every few days. Maybe you wrote on your list you liked painting, listening to jazz music, petting dogs, riding a bike, and baking pies. Buy some cheap watercolors or India ink and paint one picture with a friend. Listen to an upbeat jazz piece on the radio or check out a jazz DVD from your local library with a friend and listen to it. Walk your dog or a neighbor’s dog and pet it and scratch it’s ears. You can start with just walking to the corner and back, or around one city block. Ride your bike or borrow a bike from a friend to ride. If you like baking pies but want to lose weight, maybe make small turnovers or small tarts instead of a regular sized pie, and give them away or share them with your friends or neighbors over some coffee. You don’t even have to make the pie in one day – you could prepare the pan one day, mix the crust and wrap it and chill it in the fridge on the second day, make the filling the third day, and roll the crust and put it in the pan and fill it the fourth day, and finally cook it the fifth day. Just take small steps.
You can also go online and look for Meetup groups in your area – it is a great way to meet people with interests you share. It is easier to recover from depression when you have people to cheer you on toward your goals.
I was very depressed, and I found by doing one tiny thing I enjoyed each day, (whether it was something as small as taking a bath with a scented soap, or sitting outside watching the bees gather nectar while I drank a cup of coffee, or enjoying wrapping myself in a fresh towel warm from the dryer, or taking a short walk around the block) it really helped keep my mind focused on things that were positive. If you start having a negative thought, like “I really shouldn’t have stayed in bed until noon”, state a positive thought like “I chose to stay in bed, but now I am choosing to get up and take a bath ( get dressed, eat breakfast, or some other positive action). ” I write down the negative thought or feeling, then how I changed it into a positive thought and what positive action I took. At the end of the day, I reread the list and thanked God for being able to take those actions. I also write 3 things I am grateful for.
One of the things I did was put myself down with negative thoughts. I had thoughts like “I can’t do this”. One tip That helped me was to put “yet” at the end of that thought. “I can’t do this” became ” I can’t do this YET.” Then I would say “I can do this IF I(list a small step that will get you there!). Then I would take that small step. Finally I would praise myself for taking that step. Then state and do the next small step.
For example, you said “I am depressed and stay in bed all day. I can’t even help myself!”
1. Change that thought: “I am depressed and stay in bed all day. I can help myself IF I get up and stand beside the bed right now. ”
2. Take action: Get up and stand beside the bed.
3. Praise yourself! Now say out loud: ” I CAN help myself get out of bed by standing beside the bed. Good job!”
1. Now say the second step: ” I can help myself IF I walk from the bed to the closet.”
2. Take action: Walk from the bed to the closet.
3. Praise yourself! Now say out loud: “I CAN help myself by standing by the bed AND walking from the bed to the closet. Good job!”
Just keep repeating with additional steps. The next step might be to change into clean clothes, or get a towel so you can take a bath. Just repeat: Change thought. Take action. Praise yourself! You will be surprised by how much you do know how to help yourself! It is OK for it to be at your pace. It is OK for it to be just one step at a time.
I hope this helps. I’m rooting for you!
