Transform your mindset and unleash your true power and potential so that you can release the energy and inspiration to slay your goals. Find out how journaling can transform your mindset so that you can start focusing on living your dream life NOW!
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the topic of this month has been mindset.
Why?
Because it’s so damn important, that’s why!
All jokes aside, when you learn how to transform your mindset, you will see SO many changes in your life: your mood will improve, things will fall into place, challenges will not be as hard to handle and you will feel so much better.
I know this because that’s what I’ve experienced.
I used to constantly feel worried, stressed out and anxious. I would waste energy worrying about the future instead of enjoying the present moment. Or I would worry myself to DEATH about my parents and my sisters. I would often get stressed out at work if I wasn’t able to finish everything that I wanted to or if something fell through the cracks. I put constant pressure on myself to perform at 110% capacity at the gym and put aside my physical needs.
What do you think happened?
You guessed it. Burnout.
It’s a cycle that I have yet to fully overcome and I still have to be very mindful and conscious of my thoughts and how much I push myself. What has me transform my mindset (and subsequently how much I do in a day and how much I push myself) is by consistently using tools that transform my mindset.
So let’s take it back one step.
How are those things mentioned before affecting my mindset and why are they negative?

Well, let’s break it down:
Worrying, feeling stressed out and anxious is a state that I put myself into because my mindset was:
- I can fix everything.
- I need to do everything perfectly.
- I am responsible for other peoples’ happiness.
- I need to be ‘on’ and performing at 110% all the time.
Is that an empowering and inspiring mindset that’s conducive to feeling happy and balanced? Heck no!
What would be more empowering is to believe that:
- I cannot fix everything but I will work on the things that I CAN fix and that are in my control.
- Nothing is perfect but I will always do my best in anything that I do.
- I am only responsible for my own happiness and how I treat others.
- Being constantly on the go is not sustainable and I must find a more balanced approach to life.
And that’s why working on your mindset is so important. That simple shift in beliefs, in what something means will help you see a situation differently so that you are more positive, uplifted, inspired and empowered. So that you can focus your energy on the things that matter in life rather than wasting it on worry about the things that you can’t control anyway.
With that being said, journaling is one of my favourite tools that I’ve used to transform my mindset. It’s incredibly effective, powerful and very easy to implement. You only need a pen and paper!
1 | Journaling to Gain Clarity of Vision
When you write something down, not only are you removing it from your mind, but you’re also putting it on paper where you can physically look at it. This is a simple yet powerful way that you can then assess those thoughts and beliefs and re-assess. When those thoughts and beliefs are external to you, they become easier to asses from an almost-objective point of view.
Asking yourself questions about those beliefs will you analyze them and assess whether you need to transform them:
- Is this an inspiring belief?
Is this belief helping me? - Is this contributing to a positive mindset?
- Does this mindset fuel me to achieve my goals?
By journaling whatever you are feeling, going through or believing, you can gain clarity of vision to see that it might not be the best mindset to have. You can then transform that mindset by literally taking the old beliefs and transforming them into something more empowering, inspiring and positive.

What’s a belief that you have yourself? Your current life? And the potential for the future? Now ask yourself the above questions. If this belief is not empowering, then you need transform it into something more empowering. 2 | Journaling for Mindfulness
Sometimes, you just need to write things down and you will become aware of things that you didn’t even realize were in your brain!
Through journaling, you are able to externalize your thoughts, feelings and emotions and bring awareness to how you’re feeling in the moment or how you feel about a particular situation or encounter.
The process of writing things down is crucial to working through your thoughts and emotions because they can sometimes become all jumbled up and we’ve already agreed that mindfulness is an important dimension of success and being happy.
By bringing light to particular emotions, thoughts and feelings, you are being mindful about them and whether you do something about it or not, at least you are aware of it, which can help you understand yourself or your reactions better.

3 | Journaling for Visualization and Manifestation
This has been something that I’ve been doing lately and I LOVE it.
Self-doubt and limiting beliefs are holding us back from unleashing our true potential and living our dream life.

One way to overcome our limiting beliefs is to drown it out and eliminate it through visualization and manifestation exercises.
This is a process where you clearly envision and FEEL yourself living the life of your dreams, in FULL details, so that you can start manifesting it.
Journaling your dreams and writing down what you want as if it’s already happened is an incredible way to transform your mindset because then you start believing and feeling like it’s already happened and you are subconsciously re-directing your energy towards finding ways to achieve those dreams while focusing on the HOW and continuously pushing yourself.
Get Started!
Now it’s your turn to put pen to paper and start writing. You’d be surprised at what might come out!
And if you need some inspiration, I created a worksheet with 25 journal prompts to help you get started. You could challenge yourself and do do one journal prompt per day for the next 25 days!

How do you know what my life experience has been to judge that I don’t have any?
