Follow these 6 tips to create an effective goal-slaying strategy so that you can create and build the life of your dreams!
Goal-Slaying Strategy # 1 | Figure Out Your Goals
I mean… duh. But hey, I’m just trying to be thorough here!
The first step is your goal-slaying strategy is obviously knowing what your goals are. What are some things you’d like to accomplish? What would like to experience? To see? How do you want to feel on a daily basis? Who would you like to be? What would like to do?
Let your imagination run wild and write down everything that you ever dreamed of. DREAM BIG and allow your inner child to feel like they’re in a candy store and they can get whatever their heart desires.

Once that master list is done, narrow it down and pick your top 3 goals that you’d like to achieve. These top 3 goals must be emotion provoking. You have to feel excited when you think about actually achieving them in the near future.
Goal-Slaying Strategy # 2 | Figure Out Your WHY
Why do you want to achieve this goal? What made you pick THIS goal? What emotions and feelings stirred up inside you??
You need to find strong reasons WHY you want to slay those goals because reality check…it’s going to get tough at times and you might want to give up, so you need motivating reasons that will keep you going.
This is what you’re going to focus on when you’re going to feel like giving up. These are the reasons why you must absolutely find a way to achieve those goals…so make it good and make it VERY strong.
[bctt tweet=”Goal-Slaying strategy # 2 : Find a strong WHY behind the goals you want to achieve because that’s what will help you push through the uncomfortable and discouraging moments” username=”seppyforlove”]
Your ‘why’ should stir up emotions and strong feelings. Another way to help you figure out your why is by thinking about how you would feel if you DIDN’T achieve those goals. Start there and then create empowering reasons why you know that you WILL accomplish your goals.
Goal-Slaying Strategy # 3 | Research
Before diving into the planning stage, you need to have all the information and tools that you need to create an effective strategy.
Knowledge is power – research and find the best resources for your particular goal so that you can make an informed and strategic decision on how you are going to slay your goal.
[bctt tweet=”Goal-slaying strategy # 3 : Knowledge is power – do your research before creating your strategy” username=”seppyforlove”]
Success always leaves a trail, you just need to find it and follow it. In other words, find experts in your field and do everything you can to learn from them. Whether that’s reading a book, listening to a documentary or a podcast, or even going to hear them speak or better yet, if possible, book a consultation with them!
Figure out any way that you can to gather all the information that you need to make an accurate and informed decision on YOUR strategy to slay your goals.

Goal-Slaying Strategy # 4 | Plan
With the right research, this should be a bit easier to accomplish.
Make sure that your plan is realistic and that they have a specific timeframe. You will need to specify benchmarks for your goals so that you are progressing at a realistic rate. This will also help you adjust your strategy if you’re not seeing any progress.
[bctt tweet=”Goal-slaying strategy # 4: Create your plan – be specific with the benchmarks and the timeline…and be realistic!” username=”seppyforlove”]
Your plan should also include specific tasks that you should be doing on a weekly or daily basis.
For example, if you want to run a marathon, then you need to learn about how to condition yourself physically and what nutrition plan you need to follow. Then you need to set specific distances you want to run each week and a certain time goal for each distance to make sure that you are improving.
If you find a book, then maybe your goal will be to read one chapter per week – make it realistic based on your lifestyle and schedule!

Goal-Slaying Strategy # 5 | Track
If you don’t track your progress, how will you know how you’re progressing and whether you are reaching your goal?! I mean… duh!
Depending on the type of goal, how you track will be different.
For things that are measurable, that’s a bit easier, but this is where the research comes into play because it will give you more information about the indicators you should be looking for and what realistic progress will look like.
For example, I’ve read and heard in many places that if you lose 1-2 lbs is a healthy and more sustainable way to lose weight. Therefore, aiming to see that change on the scale gives you something concrete to measure.
But if you’re done your research for weight loss, you also know that just weighing yourself isn’t always accurate because muscle weighs more than fat. Therefore you might want to incorporate a secondary measurement to track your progress, like progress pictures or body measurements.
[bctt tweet=”Goal-slaying strategy # 5 : Track your progress to make sure you’re staying on schedule to slay your goal!” username=”seppyforlove”]
Tracking is meant to make sure that you are on track and that you are progressing. If you’re not… then you need to change something. It’s simply an indication that your strategy isn’t effective and that you need to adjust something.
Goal-Slaying Strategy # 6 | Adjust
Like I just mentioned, if you’re tracking your progress and you are noticing that the progress isn’t significant enough or that you are not progressing at all, then you need to re-think you strategy or maybe you even need to re-think your goal.
Maybe you are not as dedicated to your goal as you thought you were. Or maybe the goal isn’t achievable within the timeframe that you allotted yourself. Or maybe the plan you created is overly ambitious and you are discouraged because it’s too overwhelming.
Whatever it might be, this is the time where you adjust your goal-slaying plan by either revisiting the goal itself or your strategy.
