Feeling a bit lost? Like you don’t know who you are and what you want from life? If you’re looking for find yourself so that you can understand what your hopes and dreams are, here’s how you can find yourself in 3 steps. Because knowing who you are is the first step in creating your dream life and achieving your goals so that you can feel happier and fulfilled.
Before we get started, I want you to take a moment and reflect on what drew you to this blog post – what caught your attention? What was that little voice in your head telling you? What answers are you longing for? What are you seeking? And what’s missing in your life right now that brought you to this moment?
Life is an interesting thing – we go through the motions, we go through challenges, we have experiences, we share moments, we gather memories…
But for what? What’s the point of it all?

And don’t worry, I won’t get into this existential question that many have been trying to answer for centuries, but what I will say is that one of the “points of it all”, one of the reasons that I believe we are here, and the reason that I think you were drawn to read this blog post is that we are all always searching for answers.
And what better question to ask yourself than : Who am I?
But really…who am I, at a deep level?
What does it mean, to “find yourself”?
What do I love? What triggers me? What emotions do I feel on a regular basis? And why these emotions? How do I feel about XYZ topics? What are my opinions? What am I insecure about? What do I feel confident in? What are my strengths? And what are my weaknesses? What are some things that I’m good at? And what are some things that I need to improve in?
These are all important questions that will take a lifetime to answer. And even then, we’ll never really have a full answer to all these questions.

We are constantly changing and evolving and growing. And our life experiences will continuously shape how we change and grow throughout our lives.
Because life is a journey, and I strongly believe that we are all on a constant quest to better know ourselves, understand who we are, so that ultimately, we can uncover what our hopes and dreams are so that we can actually achieve them.
So really, in a way, you will never full find yourself, because you are constantly changing.
And that’s the “fun” of it, if that’s how you choose to look at it.
Because if you simply realize that you have to constantly be putting in the effort to understand yourself since you are always going to be changing, then it will all make it a lot easier to handle and you can try and enjoy the journey and the process.
At the end of the day, you have to know that you will be always learning something new about yourself and finding yourself as you face and go through life and the different challenges that comes with it.

The importance of finding yourself
Before we get into the practical portion of this blog post, I want to make sure that you understand the importance of this quest that you’re embarking on.
As I explained before, you are always going to be finding yourself, as you go through different experiences in your life.
The difference is when you have awareness of the importance of finding yourself in the pursuit of your dream life, your ideal self, and what you want to create in your life.
If you want to transform your life, you have to first transform yourself. If you want to create your dream life, you have to first do the inner work.

When you find yourself and you understand who you are, then you are able to clearly create your dream life. Because when you understand at a deeper level your fears and your dreams, then you can adjust your approach and what you need to do to create that dream.
And when you start seeing more clearly who you are and what you are, then it will become a lot easier to be able to create it and to pursue it so that you can live the life that you want and to authentically be the person that you want to be.

So then how do you find yourself? How do you uncover the real YOU and the real person that is craving to come out?
You have to do the work. Consistently. And to some extent, strategically.
Because like I said before, you are constantly going to be finding yourself and uncovering new sides of yourself. And you will continuously grow and change as you go through life and experience new things.
So the power lies in you to make the effort to always try and learn more about yourself and find yourself. And it starts with these 3 steps, that you can (and should) do over and over again.
STEP 1 | Do a life audit
The first thing that I would really recommend that you do, if you want to find yourself and understand yourself better, is to do a life audit.
By doing a life audit, you are taking a hard look at your life, taking into account all aspects of it, and taking a step back to better understand where you’re at so that you can see what’s missing and what you need to work on.
A life audit will give you the perspective that you need to pinpoint any gaps in your life, which will be an indication of the areas that might require more of your attention.
And once you have a better overall perspective, then it will be easier to start addressing the gaps and giving you an idea of what brought you to this point.
Because your life is a journey, and you are where you are, right now, in your life, because of all the experiences and challenges that you went through. And by looking at your life as a whole, then you can gain a different understanding of who you are as a person.
The first step in finding yourself is therefore assessing where you currently so that you can gain a better understanding of what brought you to this place to begin with.
STEP 2 | Uncover and overcome your limiting beliefs
Want to find yourself? Then this is a really crucial step in your journey.
Your limiting beliefs are the thoughts that you have about yourself and about the world and people around you. And these beliefs are created in your lifetime.
These limiting beliefs come from your experiences, from your upbringing, from your family and your cultural background.
So having a better understanding and awareness of your limiting beliefs will help you find yourself more quickly.
And once you gain a better understanding of your beliefs and how they are limiting you, then you will be able to more easily adjust your perspective. Because these beliefs can either hold you back from creating your life, or they can fuel your dream life.
STEP 3 | Set inspired goals
Finding yourself is also about creating yourself. Which means that if you take the time to think about who you want to be and what life you want to live, then you can make efforts towards achieving those goals.
And as you work towards achieving those goals, you will learn more about yourself, who you are, what your struggles are and what your strengths and weaknesses are.
- Related : The Secret to Achieving Your Goals
When you set inspired goals and you work on achieving them, you will find yourself because you will have to work on becoming the person that you were always meant to be to achieve those goals.
Because achieving your goals is not about the outcome itself, but about the person you are becoming in the process.
Get Started!
I know that I threw a lot of information at you in this blog post, and it might feel overwhelming. But don’t get overwhelmed. Take it one step at a time and trust the process and trust your journey.
You’re already here, taking the time to learn more about how you can find. Which is really the first step, since you’re bringing awareness to something that you want, which is to understand yourself better.
